Studio 246
Studio 246 is Kalamazoo's home for alternative theater. It’s the ONLY
studio in Kalamazoo that has spoken word poetry duo Kinetic Affect,
improv comedy troupe Crawlspace Eviction and new late night works,
Fancy Pants Theater. We do shows that challenge the norm and push
boundaries.
We are like the phoenix rising from the ashes of the Whole Art Theater. While many theaters are closing down, Studio 246 is growing fast. Not only are we working with some of the best in the business, but we are helping to discover and reveal new talents in Kalamazoo. Housed under the non-profit organization Speak It Forward Inc., Studio 246 works with the community to reach out to youths and their families.
We love living in Kalamazoo and wanted to give our art to the wonderful people that live here. It’s a thriving arts community, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it. Working closely with a producer who has worked in Hollywood for 30
years, Studio 246 is currently filming a show each Saturday throughout
the summer.
